Karachi: The Karachi Central Jail remains vulnerable to militants’ attacks, as the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) has yet to construct a 1,100-foot protection wall along the Chowrangi overpass.
According to a news source, the construction is being delayed as the jail officials have not yet relocated their houses and offices to allow the KMC to build a link road there.
KMC Administrator Mr Abdur Rauf Akhtar Farooqi told reporters that the jail administration had asked the KMC to build and furnish a house for the prison IG for the staff relocation to take place. He said further that the KMC had built 96 apartments for jail staff and a state-of-the-art house for the prison IG.
