Lahore: The All Pakistan Cement Manufacturers Association (APCMA) on Sunday provided notification of the growth in cement sales recorded during August, a news source reported. As per the data shared by the association, local cement sales were seen to increase by 4.84% and exports by 5.82% during the said month when contrasted with the same period for the previous year.

The statistics provided indicated that Northern mills registered an increase of 6.26% in domestic cement sales. Meanwhile, these mills recorded an increase of 8.45% in cement exports for the period in subject.
On the other hand, Southern mills recorded a decline of 5.6% in local cement sales in August 2020 compared to August 2019. However, these mills witnessed an increase of 4.78% in cement exports for the same period.

According to the APCMA data, the total sales of cement during the first two months of FY2020-21 experienced an increase of 21.78%. The sales stood at 6.863 million tons in August 2019 and 8.358 million tons in August 2020.
