Gujranwala: In order to retrieve government and semi-government land from encroachers, an anti-land-grabbing cell has been formed on the district level; with four departments working under it, according a news source.
The Punjab government has already completed plans to retrieve the land from illegal occupation and a committee has been formed to facilitate this measure. Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) Dr Zeeshan Hanif will hold the title of committee convener, while Police Department, 18- grader officers from Corporation and Municipal Committee will also be involved in this committee created to prevent illicit land occupation.

The first committee meeting was held under the chairmanship of ADC (Revenue) Dr Zeeshan Hanif, while Assistant Commissioner (Headquarters) Majid Bin Ahmed, Assistant Commissioner (Wazirabad) Waqar Hussain, Assistant Commissioner (Kamoki) Shahid Abbas, Security In-charge Ansar Shehzad and other relevant officials in attendance. The ADC said that the anti-land-grabbing cell would be made functional as per government’ vision to retrieve the state land.

After the creation of a district committee, minor committees for tehsil level operation will also be launched with relevant assistant commissioners as the conveners. These committees will address public complaints and take appropriate action. The citizens will post an application addressed to ADC, to explain the illegal occupation of their lands for the department to take action.
