Islamabad: A meeting of the Central Development Working Party (CDWP) on Monday approved seven projects related to various sectors at a cost of PKR 19.465 billion and forwarded two projects worth PKR 32.11 billion to the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) for its approval, according to news sources.

The meeting reviewed various projects related to the health, physical planning, housing, education, communication, science, technology, transport and water resources. The CDWP approved three Science and Technology projects costing approximately PKR 723 million, PKR 1.6 billion and PKR 336 million, respectively. Additionally, the meeting also approved two projects for the Education Sector with estimated costs of PKR 6.9 billion and PKR 3.73 billion respectively.

One Transport and Communications project (of worth PKR 3.05 billion) was also approved for the construction of the 77-kilometres-long Ziarat-Dalbadin-Balanosh road. Another project for the construction of small storage dams in Khuzdar was approved with an estimated developmental budget of PKR 3.05 billion. The meeting cleated a concept proposal titled ‘Solid Waste Emergency Efficiency Program (2020-24)’ for Sindh of worth USD 100 million.
