CDWP approves projects worth PKR 1800 bn for FY23

Islamabad: The Central Development Working Party (CDWP) on Saturday (June 04) approved development projects worth PKR 1800 billion for the fiscal year 2022-23, news sources reported. The government has included 22 projects in the Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP).

Reportedly, the meeting was presided over by Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives Ahsan Iqbal. As per the report, the following projects have been included in the PSDP:  

• PKR 933.347 billion for the Diamir Basha Dam Project-Power Generation Facility worth, 
• PKR 399.812 billion for the revised PC-I for implementation of Universal Health Coverage under Health Insurance Programme in Punjab 
• PKR 237.734 billion for the PC-I of the construction of the Chashma Right Bank Canal costing 
• PKR 55.553 billion has been allocated for the Sehat Sahulat Programme (2nd revised) 
• PKR 25.430 billion has been set aside for the 500kV Sialkot Substation. 
• PKR 13.418 billion has been set aside for the upgradation of the existing 220kV Vehari Substation to 500kV Vehari Substation.

• PKR 12.686 billion has been allocated for the Allama Mohammad Iqbal Scholarship for Afghan National Students (Phase-III)
• PKR 11.976 billion has been allocated for the additional augmentation of 500kV and 220kV transformers at the existing grid stations for the removal of NTDC system constraints.
• PKR 11.274 billion for the establishment of the 48MW Shounter Hydropower Project
• PKR 9.9880 billion for the PM special package to implement skills for all strategies as catalysts for the TVET Sector Development Programme
• PKR 9.665 billion for the feasibility study and acquisition of land for the establishment of the Islamabad Model Special Economic Zone (IMSEZ)
• PKR 9.396 billion has been set aside for the establishment of the 40MW Dowarian Hydro Power Project in Neelum Valley. 
• PKR 8.457 billion has been set aside for the 500kV Arifwala Substation
• PKR 3.245 billion has been allocated for the establishment of Mirwaiz Molvi Muhammad Farooq Shaheed Medical College Muzaffarabad costing
• PKR 1.698 billion for the provision of medical equipment for seven PAEC Cancer Hospitals,
• PKR 1.128 billion for the construction of 20 small dams in KP
