Islamabad: The Central Development Working Party (CDWP) has given approval for 15 development projects in Pakistan, worth PKR 249.21 billion, according to news published on May 24.

A meeting was held with Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives Ahsan Iqbal. As per the details, the approved development projects were related to the Ministry of Housing and Works, Ministry of Communication, Power Division, Ministry of Railways, and Ministry of National Health Services Regulations and Coordination.
As per the details, the CDWP has referred Umbrella PC-1 of the Flood Protection Sector Project-III (updated) worth PKR 194.6 billion to the Economic Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) for approval. The meeting also referred the revised Sehat Sahulat Programme at the cost of PKR 31.93 billion to the ECNEC for final approval.
The following are the details of the other approved development projects in Pakistan:
- Construction of an Interchange on Hazara Motorway, connecting Abbottabad and Sherwan Road right after the first Tunnel (Shimla Hill Tunnel), at the cost of PKR 1.82 billion
- Rehabilitation and upgradation of Kundal Interchange (M-14) to Chashma-DI Khan Road (revised) under DI Khan Road Development Package, at the cost of PKR 2.80 billion

- PC-1 for rehabilitation and upgradation of Pezu Tank Road, at the cost of PKR 4.87 billion
- Construction of Railway Underpass Gojra, District Toba Tek Singh, at the total cost of PKR 1.44 billion
- Renovation and construction of offices, women’s barracks, and multi-purpose training rooms at the office of the superintendent of Railway Police, Rawalpindi (revised), at the cost of PKR 310.375 million
- Establishment of capacity building and institutional strengthening in the Planning Commission, at the cost of PKR 2.02 billion
- Electrification of villages at Dera Bugti–Package, at the total cost of PKR 960.093 million
- Re-commissioning of 5 no Accidental Diesel Electric Locomotives (revised), at the cost of PKR 2.48 billion
- Rehabilitation of the firefighting system at KMC, at the total cost of PKR 1.83 billion
- Provision of missing facilities at Swabi University, at the cost of PKR 2.03 billion
