Islamabad: The Central Development Working Party (CDPW) approved 34 development projects in a meeting, and sent five to Executive Committee of National Economic Council for final approval, reported a news source. The decisions were taken in a meeting presided by Planning Commission Chairman Sartaj Aziz and attended by senior officials from federal ministries and provincial departments.
The 34 approved projects have an estimated cost of PKR 365.49 billion, while the five sent for final approval have a worth of PKR 333.18 billion. The project sent for final approval from ECNEC include the construction of Diamer Basha Dam, Mohmand Hydro Power Project, setting up a grid station in Gilgit-Baltistan, construction of a railway line at Gwadar Port, and a project involving the energy sector.
Some of the projects approved by CDWP include:
- Implementation of an integrated solution to improve productivity and control in NTDC by Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system
- Airport Security Force accommodation at Islamabad International Airport
- Widening of Spera Ragha Road from Khanozai Cross to Loralai and Killa Saifullah
- Construction of J-Head Spur at RD 20000 and Guide Head Spur at RD 25000 Maggasson Branch, Muzaffarabad
- Monitoring the Seawater intrusion along Sindh and Balochistan
- Construction of 05 (for 100 men each) police barracks near K block in Islamabad
- Construction of administration block quarters, guard barracks, horse stable, and parade ground in Diplomatic Enclave Islamabad
- Land acquisition and site development for PIDE for constructing new campus
- Construction of judicial and administrative complex in Islamabad
- Uplifting of Academic and infrastructure facilities at Hazara University
- Establishment of engineering faculty at Karakorum international University
- Pak-Sri Lanka Higher Education Program
- International Law Graduate Scholarship for Balochistan
- Prime Minister electric wheelchair scheme for university students
- Establishment of technical training Centre for precision mechanics and instrument technology
- Provision of quality education to the students of Balochistan and FATA
- Construction of primary section at GDA school in Gwadar
- Upgradation of health facilities as CGH RWP by making all departments functional
- Purchase of electro-medical equipment for the newly constructed 200-bed hospital for Pakistan Rangers Punjab
- Construction of boxing gymnasium in Karachi
- Construction of gymnasium in Quetta
- Modernisation of camera and production equipment of PTV
