Rawalpindi: City District Government Rawalpindi (CDGR) officials have seemingly failed to curb the activity of land-grabbers, who have taken illegal control of government and private land worth billions of rupees. According to a news source, the land-grabbers have illegally taken over a large piece of land on Adyala Road near Government Employees Housing Society.
The land-grabbers have also reportedly shot dead a police officer, besides injuring many people who tried to stop them from illegal possession of the land. The Commissioner Office has also turned its back towards these powerful land-grabbers and has failed to free the government’s land from their clutches.
Locals told reporters that the land-grabbers usually misguide potential buyers towards unwittingly occupying government land allocated for roads. Later on, when these unaware buyers end up building structures that block access to the land behind the encroached area, these land-grabbers manipulate the landowners into selling their land for a low price.
