Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has made 80 water filtration plants operational in the capital city, news sources reported on April 16. The project was completed by the water supply wing of the CDA to provide residents with clean, potable water.

Reportedly, the water wing is also developing additional 20 water filtration facilities in Sectors G-6, G-9, F-6, G-8, F-7, and F-8, which are slated to be completed in the coming months. Deputy Director General (Water) Sardar Khan Zimri told the reporters that the authority has also presented a plan for the establishment of further filtration facilities in various locations of the city. In addition, the following efforts have been done to address people’s water vows:
- Installation of water filtration plants in Sector I-14 and Alipur Farash to facilitate the residents
- Addition of two million gallons of water to the existing capacity with the operationalisation of the inactive Korang filtration plant
- Addition of 2 million gallons of water per day to the city’s supply system in Ramzan
