Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has restored water supplies for the inhabitants of Sector G-7/3 after a ten-year lapse, news sources reported. The CDA has asked its water wing to restore old pipelines and water infrastructure for almost 300 homes in the area.

As per the sources, the CDA decided to supply water to the residents, citing the escalating water costs from private water tankers. It was also revealed that the CDA had started a PKR 495 million water infrastructure development project in the capital city. The project started a few years ago to restore and repair water pipelines, tube wells, and water filtration plants for use in other areas. Moreover, under the project, the water wing has restored water lines in Sectors F-6, F-7, F-8, F-10, G-6, G-7, G-8, G-9, G-10, G-10/3, G-11, H-9, H-10, I-9, I-10, Humak Town, Rawal Dam, and other locations – under the command of the CDA board.

In addition, the authority has fixed twelve malfunctioning filtration facilities. Furthermore, in August, the federal government asked authorities to conduct a feasibility report of small dams for a steady water supply to the capital city residents.
