Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) on Monday finalised a plan to rehabilitate parts of Islamabad under a new project worth an estimated PKR 2 billion — with this amount expected to be further supplemented if required, according to a news source published on October 6.

The said project was finalised during a meeting chaired by CDA Chairman Amer Ali Ahmed. On the occasion, it was decided that the aforementioned uplift project would be implemented in Sector H (containing various institutions), and the residential sectors of G, F and I. The project to upgrade the capital’s infrastructure includes road carpeting, establishing pavements, executing soft landscaping, and fixing the area’s streetlights and drainage system.
Reportedly, the estimates for the individual work to be executed under the rehabilitation project are currently being mapped out. It was communicated that the tenders in this regard should be invited in October, and that the entire project is expected to be completed in three months.

The CDA Chairman stated that the implementation of the said project was sorely needed in Islamabad. He added that the funds generated from various auctions undertaken by the authority over the last few months (amounting to PKR 57 billion) would now be invested in the city’s infrastructure, starting with the aforementioned uplift project.
Furthermore, during the meeting, it was also decided that CDA’s Machinery Pool Organisation would be initiating work for the carpeting of roads in the Diplomatic Enclave on Tuesday.
