Islamabad: The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) submitted a request to the Capital Development Authority (CDA) on May 26 to retrieve and demarcate PKR 2.3 billion worth of land in Kurri Village that has been encroached upon by Bahria Enclave.
According to a news source, a CDA audit report for 2013-14 stated that Bahria Enclave had encroached upon 1, 542 kanals of state land. The civic agency had issued a final warning to the private housing scheme to vacate the premises within seven days on November 7, 2012. However, three and a half years on, no land has been retrieved.
PAC directed the civil authority to immediately reclaim the encroached area and submit a report in this regard.
