Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has instructed its engineering wing to revive the Ladies Club in Sector G-10 project and resolved the issues hindering its construction, news sources reported.
Originally, the project was initiated in 2006 with an initial budget allocation of PKR 182.8 million, however, it was subsequently shelved due to financial limitations. CDA’s engineering wing, in a recent meeting, has request authority’s permission to float tenders for the project again.
The project’s initial 2006 plan included two wedding halls, a mini-cinema, a swimming pool, coffee shops, restaurants, a library, squash and tennis courts, and a gymnasium. In the revised design of the project, two basements were added that raised the project cost to PKR 335.7 million.
Reportedly, the board has asked that the engineering wing present a revised Project Concept-1 (PC-1) of the project and begin issuing tenders for the same in order to begin working on the project as soon as possible.
In addition to the club in Sector G-10, CDA intends to focus on several other projects in the city, including an art and craft village, a culture complex in Shakarparian and a citizens’ club in F-9.
