Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) is looking to revise its formula for compensation that is paid for acquisition of land for the development of new sectors, a news source reported. New sectors have not been developed according to the needs of the city, adding to the shortage of affordable housing.
Many of the sectors of the city are currently stalled because of litigation issues with the locals and in several of the sectors, people have been compensated for the land, but not for their construction, so they have refused to vacate. This is the reason behind the need to revise compensation formula.
The land sharing formula of 2007 will remain as it is and people will be compensated with one kanal developed plot for four kanals of their undeveloped land. However, the formula will be revised in case of payments and several proposals are under consideration for that.
