Islamabad: CDA Spokesperson Mazhar Hussain on Sunday revealed that development work in Sector I-12 ‘would be initiated shortly’, now that the authority had opened the technical bids for the project, according to a news source.

As per the details available, these technical bids will first be evaluated by a committee, and later, the financial bids of only those firms will be opened that qualified in the original evaluation process.
Previously, the authority had invited bids from the construction firms that had been placed in category C-3 or above by the Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC). In response, many renowned firms had submitted their financial and technical proposals — with the NIT for the first phase of development in the said sector expected to be PKR 284,742,287.

Reportedly, the first phase of the project will involve the construction of service roads (east, north and west), the construction of box culverts, and the development of a drainage system. Additionally, the authority has reported that all administrative and technical issues hindering the development of the sector I-12 have now been resolved.
