Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has decided to remove encroachments from the right-of-way (ROW) of major roads in the capital city within the going 48-hour period, a news source reported.

The authority took a decision to this effect during a high-level meeting on Tuesday. It directed the director general (works) to remove all illegal structures from major roads such as Margalla Road, Nazimuddin Road, and IJP Road within the said timeframe.
The civic agency issued instructions to the departments concerned to expedite the anti-encroachment drive on ROW of GT Road in the Rawat and Tarnol areas. It added that the encroachments outside plot boundaries should be demolished on an immediate basis.
Previously, the civic agency had removed encroachments near the Centaurus Mall. It also cleared a portion of the ROW on Nazimuddin Road on Tuesday.

Moreover, CDA directed the Metropolitan Corporation Islamabad’s Directorate of Municipal Administration (DMA) to withdraw the permission given to private individuals to use state land.
