Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has announced its decision to commence with construction of an interchange at the junction of the 7th Avenue and Srinagar Highway near Aabpara – in a bid to resolve the persisting traffic gridlocks in the middle of the city, according to a news report published on February 20.

According to details, the civic agency has received bids from two companies and a consortium of three other firms. The CDA has opened technical bids of the companies and the evaluation process is currently underway. The financial bids are also expected to be opened soon, following which the civc agency will issue the contract for the construction work.
CDA Chairman Amer Ali Ahmed confirmed the reports and said that this interchange along with other projects such as the interchange at 10th Avenue and overhauling of IJP Road will be launched soon.

The 7th Avenue/Srinagar Highway interchange will form a clover-leaf with four left and right loops. This project worth PKR 1.5 billion is expected to be completed in a year.
