Quetta: The Coastal Development Authority (CDA) of Balochistan recently announced its decision to launch seven tourism projects in Gwadar and Lasbela with assistance from Chief Minister (CM) Jam Kamal Alyani, according to news sources.

The authority officials on Friday briefed the provincial chief executive about the project during a review meeting that was held to analyse the progress of development schemes along the Balochistan coastal belt.
The officials revealed that various facilities — including resorts, jetties, hotels and water sports — were being developed for the tourists visiting Jiwani, Gwadar, Oarmaro, Pasni, Kund Malir, Damb and Gidani. A beach park with an estimated cost of PKR 250 million will also be constructed. The meeting was further informed that the CDA has also submitted the PC-I of PKR 1,075 million to the Planning and Development (P&D) department for these purposes.

CM Kamal issued directions regarding the development of the tourism projects located in the coastal areas of the province, and said that the CDA would be granted ownership of the land being procured for these planned tourism schemes.
Meanwhile, the provincial government recently announced its plan to launch a tree plantation campaign to attract tourists to the region. The meeting held in this regard also agreed to develop a wind and solar energy project in area by utilizing a public-private partnership model.
