Islamabad: The National Information Technology Board’s (NITB) e-office system has encountered significant issues in government institutions, failing to replace the traditional file system within the Capital Development Authority (CDA), as reported on July 9.

CDA officials reported that they tested NITB’s e-office system three times over different periods. Each test failed to progress beyond the pilot phase due to non-delivery issues, according to CDA representatives. In response, the CDA has turned to the Punjab IT Board (PITB) to digitize its file system. CDA officials stated that PITB’s e-office will first be implemented in the Technology Wing. Following successful implementation there, the system will be extended to the Admin and HR Wings. If the system proves effective, it will be rolled out across the entire CDA in phases.
NITB officials, however, contend that the CDA did not fully implement the NITB e-office system. They claim that NITB’s e-office is functioning well in other government departments. According to NITB officials, the CDA has the discretion to choose between the system from PITB or any other institution.

This strategic shift to PITB’s e-office aims to streamline CDA’s operations and ensure a more efficient digital file management system.
