Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) on Monday (December 06) directed the road maintenance department to complete rehabilitation and renovation work by the end of the week, news sources reported. In this regard, the road department has begun work on the restoration of roadways across the capital city.

Work has begun in areas such as F-5, Agha Khan Road, 7th Avenue, G-7, G-5, F-7, Serena Chowk, and Soharwardi Road, according to the report. Patching, painting curbstones, and traffic lane marking are all part of the restoration effort. Furthermore, the CDA has directed the relevant department to work on the repair and installation of street lighting in several major markets, parking lots, and roadways. Funds have been made available in this respect. The authority has also directed that murals and cultural designs be painted on numerous bus stations and underpasses in order to promote culture and enhance the city’s aesthetics.

Similarly, the environment department has begun planting flowering and decorative plants as part of the Prime Minister’s Clean & Green initiative. The CDA has directed that all departments execute the tasks over the next week in order to improve the look of the capital city.
