Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has booked advertisements in several foreign publications in a bid to invite applications from reputable international consultant firms for the revision of Islamabad’s master plan, according to a news source published on September 29.

The process for hiring international consultant in collaboration with the planning commission was ordered by the federal cabinet in October 2019. To this effect, CDA spokesperson Mazhar Hussain said that the development authority held several sessions with the planning commission and other stakeholders and completed all requirements ahead of the consultant hiring process.

Moreover, CDA officials communicated that the applicant selected will be brought in to propose solutions for several civic issues persisting in the capital for decades. They revealed that thousands of people had constructed homes and other structures in no-construction zones. They expressed the hope that with the help of the consultancy firm, the authority would revise the capital city’s master plan.
