Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) is set to fully digitalise the sale and transfer of all types of properties in Islamabad starting from August 14 this year, as reported by a news source on June 3.

According to the details, this initiative will ensure that property transactions, including those done via gift, power of attorney, mortgage, and other methods, will be processed through an e-registry system. The announcement was made during a meeting chaired by CDA Chairman and Chief Commissioner Islamabad Muhammad Ali Randhawa at the CDA headquarters. The meeting focused on the digitalisation of properties within the CDA and the Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT).

The chairman was informed that the digitalisation effort will also cover the entry and correction of historical records to address complaints of fraud and forgery. The public will have access to their property records, which will be integrated with the Nadra system. The project will also implement GIS mapping. Additionally, overseas Pakistanis will be able to verify the status of properties before engaging in transactions. Muhammad Ali Randhawa expressed confidence that the digitalisation of property records will greatly enhance transparency and efficiency in property transactions.
