Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority (CDA)’s Building Control Department II has decided to demolish 17 high-rise buildings in Sector E-11 on charges of being illegal, according to a news source. These buildings were constructed without any approval and their developers were ignoring the CDA’s warnings to terminate construction work.
The civic authority had warned the developers of these buildings against continuing illegal construction work and sealed these units several times in the past. Reportedly, the developers had not only broken the seal, but also continued with illegal construction.
It should be noted that the civic authority has already declared 87 buildings illegal in Islamabad for not acquiring an NOC, among which 45 were sealed earlier.
