Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has closed a number of private schools operating in the residential areas of the city, and said that it will continue doing so in future, according to a news story. This statement has come from a meeting held at the CDA office this week.
A report on the sealing of private schools was presented before the board, outlining that the CDA had sealed 53 private schools in the city for non-conforming use of residential properties, as per the directives of the Islamabad High Court (IHC). Most of these schools are located in Sectors F-6, F-7, F-8, G-6, and I-8.
The Chairman of the Board has said that the CDA is carrying out these activities on the directions of the IHC and that it is also in accordance with the CDA’s bylaws to prohibit commercial activities in residential areas.
