Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has decided to construct five more interchanges at different roads of the federal capital in order to cater to future traffic needs as well as to expand the road infrastructure – a news source reported.

The authorities have issued instructions to prepare PC-Is for each of these projects within two weeks, after which they can proceed to the construction and planning phase. It is hoped that these projects will help meet the traffic needs of the capital city for several decades to come.
As per the initial plan, the interchanges will be built at 7th Avenue Kashmir Highway, 10th Avenue Kashmir Highway, 11th Avenue Kashmir Highway, 12th Avenue Kashmir Highway and 9th Avenue Khyaban-e-Iqbal.

The Planning and Engineering Wing has started work to prepare the PC-Is and it will be completed by tomorrow. These PC-Is will then be presented before the CDA-DWP for consideration, where they will be evaluated in terms of its technical and financial requirements, and its environmental impact.
