Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has announced its decision to commence with the expansion and rehabilitation of IJ Principal Road part connecting Faizabad Flyover with Peshawar Road, a news source reported on December 3. To this effect, the civic authority has invited prequalification applications from competent firms by December 18.
The project is to be completed in two packages at an estimated cost of PKR 6.99 billion. The 10-kilometre long and four-lane wide road is one of the main road links between the twin cities and receives high traffic load. Its current condition is deteriorating and due to being home to several wholesale markets and bus stands, it continues to receive heavy traffic.
