Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has issued tenders to launch work for the uplift of the Sector E-12/1, according to a news story published on Friday (January 28).

As per the details, the authority has reserved PKR 574 million for the development of the sub-sector. The development work includes laying water supply, drainage, and sewerage network. The civic agency has already issued tenders for the uplift of Sector E-12/4 at a cost of PKR 418 million.
It is pertinent to note that the authority conducted its first e-ballot in December 2021 to hand over 162 villagers affected by Sector E-12. It was disclosed that 1,200 residents will get plots under various phases. The second ballot is scheduled to take place on January 30, 2022.

In another development, National Assembly Standing Committee on Aviation on Thursday (January 27) ordered the relevant authorities to remove dumping sites near the airport to avoid bird strikes on planes. A senior aviation official stated that bird strikes pose a serious threat to the safety of passengers and aircraft. He asked the locals residing near the airport to not throw garbage around airports as it attracts birds.
