Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has taken several initiatives to ensure the provision of potable water for Islamabad residents. These efforts include the currently underway project of the installation of water treatment plant at Sector I-8 and Sangjani, according to a news source published on February 18.

The civic body has stated that PKR 496 million will be utilized for repair and maintenance work of water pipelines, water tankers, tube wells and installation of new pipelines.
As per a CDA official, to make sure that the water shortage that struck the federal capital last summer doesn’t happen, the authority is working day and night to secure enough water supply for the residents of Islamabad.

He also revealed that water from the Khanpur and Simli Dams has also been added to the supply of the residents of the federal capital. With the water treatment plants being established in Sector I-8 and Sangjani and the rehabilitation of tube wells in sectors G-10, G-11, F-11, I-9, I-10; the water provision is expected to considerably improve in the civic body’s jurisdiction.
