Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) and Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) administration demolished a number of illegal construction in a slum in Nilor, a news source reported.
The operation was carried out at the request of special monitoring teams for slums. The CDA had formed the monitoring teams last month after complaints that people encroach on land during holidays. These teams will be visiting various areas of the city to check encroachments.

During the operation, the site office of a housing scheme was also sealed. CDA had earlier closed an office of the society, which had then built another one to operate its business.
An illegal boundary wall was demolished in the slum near the Railway Line in H-11. Temporary huts were also partially demolished and their residents were given two days to vacate the site.
