Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has submitted a report on building by-laws on wedding halls in the Supreme Court, according to a news source. There hadn’t been any laws on wedding halls in the capital.
According to the by-laws submitted with the Supreme Court, wedding halls will only be constructed on a plot with minimum area of 2,000 sq. yd. Moreover, a maximum of two floors and 50% of the covered area will be allowed in the wedding halls, and there should be parking space for one car for every 250 sq. yd. of covered area. The basement will also be dedicated for car-parking,
Moreover, the by-laws make it imperative for the wedding halls to have their structural and building plans approved by a licensed engineer or architect. The by-laws also bind the management of wedding halls to create a treatment plant in the absence of a sewerage system.
