According to news, CDA has submitted a compensation plan for litigant landowners of sectors H-16 and I-17 which, according to Islamabad High Court, is not comprehensive enough.
Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui observed the proposal on Thursday and directed the CDA member finance to prepare a comprehensive compensation plan after finding that the submitted proposal does not cover all aspects of compensating the litigant landowners.
As per the proposal submitted by legal advisor Mohammed Ramzan Chaudhry and member finance from CDA, authority will divide the development work in different phases instead of developing sectors in one go.
According to the proposal, CDA will sell the plots to the general public and compensate the landowners for the collected revenue. CDA has already received Rs 720 million from ICT (Islamabad Capital Territory) on allocation of 800 kanal of land in sector H-16.
The plan also highlighted to ask the affectees to hand over the land to the authority on the sub sector basis and CDA will sell this land to the general public. The collected revenue will be kept in separate ‘Escrow’ accounts. Justice Siddiqui asked the CDA officials to present a solid compensation proposal by 13th September otherwise stern action would be taken against the authority.
The court has ordered CDA to work on the proposal as it is incomprehensible and submit the improved proposal on 28th September which is the next date of hearing.
