CDA Chairman Amir Ali Ahmed disclosed that the Srinagar Highway will be made signal-free and a team is already developing design and PC-1 for the project. He went on to say that the city managers are determining whether to construct three interchanges or underpasses. The chairman revealed if the underpasses are deemed better at easing traffic congestion, then underpasses will be developed instead of interchanges.

Reportedly, constructing underpasses are cheaper than interchanges; the remaining funds will be used for a public bus service project. A CDA’s official of Engineering Wing (whose name was not disclosed) notified that one underpass/interchange will be established at the junction of 10th Avenue and Srinagar, and one each at the junctions of 11th and 12th Avenues.
