Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has decided to operate the Silver Line Metro Bus service on IJP Road to accommodate commuters, news sources reported on February 3.

The authority, in a board meeting, decided to develop bus bays and stations for Silver Line Bus service at every kilometre, with the inclusion of service areas, tuck shops, and lavatories, to provide better commuter services to passengers across Rawalpindi and Islamabad. The ongoing development work, as per the PC-I, includes the construction of a road, two flyovers, two bridges, and seven culverts, all of which are aimed at widening and overhauling IJP Road. Also, the CDA chairman had directed the completion of the project by March 23.

It is pertinent to mention that the IJP Road is one of the major arteries of the capital. It links Islamabad and Rawalpindi besides connecting G.T. Road and Islamabad Expressway.
