Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has shared the details on the land recovered from illegal occupants, according to news published in the leading newspaper on October 16.

As per the details, the authority has successfully retrieved 750 kanals of its land situated in Sectors I-12/1, I-12/2, and I-12/3 during the last week. CDA Chairman Captain (r) Anwar ul Haq has recently issued directives for a stringent crackdown on encroachments throughout the federal capital.
An official (whose name was not disclosed) stated that the CDA Enforcement Directorate in collaboration with various governmental departments, initiated a concerted effort to combat an unauthorized Afghan settlement in the vicinity of NUST, Sector I-12. This undertaking involved the deployment of heavy machinery, resulting in the demolition of several makeshift structures and livestock enclosures.

Moreover, the news source mentioned that the 750 kanals of reclaimed land will be allocated for diverse developmental projects in the future. It’s noteworthy that the anti-encroachment operation was not confined solely to Sector I-12; it extended to various other regions of Islamabad, including Simly Dam Road, Karnal Sher Khan Avenue, Mandi Mor, Margalla Town Phase-2, and Murree Road. The operation included the removal of obstructions from public walkways on both sides of these thoroughfares.
