Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) in a meeting on Friday, reported that under-development PWD Underpass is to be completed in June and Korang Bridge in October, according to media reports.

The PWD Underpass was to be finished in April but due to unforeseen delays, the bridge will be ready for traffic before June 30, stated Roads Director Tahir Mahmood. While the Korang Bridge was to finish in December, now, it will be complete before its deadline.
Also, the eastern loop of the PWD Underpass will be operational before the tunnel work is started, added director. Giving strict warning, the director said that penalty will be imposed on the contractors in case of further delays.

Moreover, the director shed light on the progress of the Korang Bridge expansion project. The project is moving forward as per expectations and once the shifting of services is complete, the progress will speed up.
Talking about work on Rawal Dam Interchange, the CDA officer reported that there are some delays and completed work is less than 25%. While the Roads Director reaffirmed that technical work is almost done, which is often time-consuming. Once the technical aspects are dealt with, the progress will be visible. So far, 18 girders are installed and 24 piles have been built.
The director claimed that the project was to be completed in two years, but now, it will be completed in a year.
