Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) and the Survey General of Pakistan (SGP) have agreed to enhance mutual cooperation, particularly in acquiring advanced 3D maps and high-resolution imagery for Islamabad’s urban planning and development.

During a meeting on Saturday, CDA Chairman Muhammad Ali Randhawa and SGP Head Major General Rafiq Ur Rehman discussed leveraging SGP’s advanced geospatial mapping capabilities to improve city management. SGP officials assured their support in providing cutting-edge digital mapping and real-time imagery with centimeter-level accuracy.
Chairman Randhawa emphasized that these advanced 3D maps would play a crucial role in refining urban layouts, detecting encroachments, and addressing various city planning challenges. He noted that real-time, high-resolution data would enhance decision-making and infrastructure development in the capital.
Both organizations agreed to establish technical teams to streamline collaboration and ensure the seamless implementation of mapping solutions. The initiative is expected to significantly improve Islamabad’s urban management, making planning more efficient and data-driven.
