Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) on Monday set up a self-accountability system to prevent fraudulent plot allotments in the capital city, a news source reported. According to the details shared, the system is designed to curb attempts to allot plots via illegal means.

A press release stated that the authority had suspended several officials over alleged fraudulent attempts. It added that the attempts to transfer fake allotments were identified by the directorate staff at the time of transfer. Meanwhile, a senior official revealed that the fraudulent plot allotment cases found were in the process of cancellation.
CDA has also engaged the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) to investigate some cases in a more detailed manner. The authority has also formed an inquiry committee to identify transgressors and offenders, along with determining the financial loss suffered.

CDA has also established a committee to scrutinise each plot file before any transfer in order to determine if it was genuine. Officials added that this measure would control the transfers of bogus or fake plot files.
