Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has invited construction firms to submit their bids for the development of the proposed Malal Bridge on Lehtarar Road, according to news sources. The project is also set to include the development of a 700-metre-long-dual road near the Pakistan Institute of Nuclear Science and Technology (PINSTEC).

This bridge is the second construction project to be launched by the CDA on Lehtarar Road; with its previous developmental initiative of the Burma Bridge currently underway.

The Lehtarar Road was made into a dual carriageway back in 2008, however, the construction of two important bridges – Burma and Malal – could not be executed at the time. This incomplete development, consequently, has led to traffic congestion issues that have inconvenienced locals for over 11 years now.
Earlier this year, the CDA took notice of the situation and launched the construction of Burma Bridge – and is now moving to construct the Malal Bridge on Lehtarar Road as well.
