Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) on Friday stated that it had notified the owners of more than 80 agro farms to demolish palatial houses built on land meant for cultivation purpose or get these illegal establishments regularized within 15 days, a news source reported.

It further announced its decision to take action against all agro farm owners found to have constructed grand mansions instead of growing agricultural products on several chunks of land allotted by the development authority for farming purpose.
According to the details revealed, the civic agency had allocated as many as 539 establishments for cultivation of fruits and vegetables. These farms are situated on Park Road Chak Shahzad, Kahuta Road, Murree Road, Tarlai Kalan, Sehana and other localities of the capital city.

As per the news source, CDA had permitted construction on 9,500 square feet, imposing fine on an additional 3,000 square feet. It further stated that the owners had violated CDA regulations by carrying out construction beyond the prescribed limit of 9,500 square feet.
