Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) recently finalised the PC-1 for the construction of a flyover at the Sihala-Kahuta Road; with the authority further having forwarded a summary to the Ministry of Interior for approval, according to news sources. This venture is expected to be completed within a period of 12 months following the initiation of development work.

Reportedly, the flyover will be built on a railway crossing located at about 6 kilometres away from Kakpul on Kahuta Road. As per the PC-1, the construction of this flyover is estimated to cost PKR 483 million, while it will developed using the funds issued under the Public Sector Development Programme.

As per the news reports, the residents of the area and daily commuters had been demanding a facility like this over the past several years. These calls were prompted by the traffic congestion that had become a source of constant menace for the locals. Hopefully, the construction of the said overhead bridge will relieve some of the load from this important route, and improve traffic flow in the area.

According to the information available, the flyover will be 1,800 feet in length, and its approach road will be 900 feet long.
