Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) sealed more than 40 schools in the residential areas of the capital, stated a news source. An official from the CDA stated that this has been done on orders from the Islamabad High Court, directing all private schools to vacate their buildings if located in residential areas.
In early May, the Islamabad High Court directed all private schools situated in residential areas to shift to commercial areas on the basis of which the CDA has now taken drastic action. An official from the CDA said that the civic agency closed down 42 private schools in sectors G-6, G-7, and H-8 in line with the orders of the court. The official also added that the schools would have to relocate to commercial areas.
