Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) sealed a number of nonconforming houses in various schemes in Zones II, III and V on Wednesday, a news source reported. The Building Control Directorate-II of the CDA took action against buildings which were in violation of the capital’s Building and Zoning Regulations-2005.

CDA conducted the operation in collaboration with the ICT administration and staff of enforcement directorate against various violations, including construction made without approval from the authority. Prior to sealing these houses, the CDA had issued 500 notices to violators warning them to voluntarily remove any violations of building by-laws from their premises.

After the deadline for voluntary removal passed, officers sealed a total of 40 houses all over Zones II, III and V of Islamabad. Similar operations are being conducted across the city against violators, and one of these raids resulted in 30 houses being sealed in Sector E-11.
