Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has sealed 17 commercial premises on GT Road and in other areas for violating building by-laws and zoning regulations, a news source reported. The civic body took the action as part of its ongoing operation against illegal constructions in the capital city.

CDA is currently carrying out the drive simultaneously in Zone-II, Zone-IV, Zone-V, and other areas of the capital city. To this effect, the authority recently sealed six under-construction commercial buildings in Zone-V GT Road for violating the zoning regulations.
On the other hand, CDA sealed another 11 commercial buildings in Soan Garden and River Garden Housing Society for violating building by-laws.

The development authority has continued the said campaign in Islamabad in order to control the haphazard constructions on the outskirts of the city, as well as to ensure the implementation of its building by-laws. CDA also aims to particularly curb construction violations within housing societies that fall in the territorial limits of the city.
