The plan involves utilising the existing 6-kilometre highway leading to the Barakahu Bypass and constructing an additional 4-kilometre extension to complete the route. Following directives from Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi to establish a 5-minute access route to Margalla Enclave, the CDA’s Planning Wing identified a suitable site and submitted the proposal for review to CDA Chairman and Islamabad Chief Commissioner Mohammad Ali Randhawa.
Senior officials have assessed the feasibility of the 10-kilometer highway, which is expected to take approximately one year to complete and will require a significant financial investment.

To optimise costs, the proposal suggests constructing a parallel highway alongside the current route, potentially reducing expenses by PKR 6 billion to PKR 8 billion. Once completed, the highway is expected to provide a direct and efficient link, enhancing accessibility and reducing travel time between the designated locations.
