Lahore: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) will rehabilitate and expand Park Road from Rawal Chowk to Taramri Chowk, news sources reported on September 2.

The 7.9-kilometre-long road will cost PKR 1.95 billion, with construction beginning in the third week of October. CDA Chairman Captain (retired) Usman Younis announced the news via his official Twitter account. He stated that the project will take four months to complete and will considerably enhance traffic flow to and from Rawal Chowk and Taramri Chowk.
Furthermore, he also said that the CDA has operationalised the 7th Avenue project and is now open to all kinds of traffic. He said the project has been completed on time despite relentless rains and the COVID-19 pandemic. He thanked the workers and the FWO for the completion of the project.

It is worth noting that the CDA has begun several initiatives in the federal capital to improve traffic, such as signal-free corridors, flyovers, and underpasses. According to sources, the government plans to open the Rawal Chowk Flyover to cope with the increasing number of vehicles on the roads.
