The CDA will connect the two parts of the Diplomatic Enclaves as part of the project, cutting commute time and replacing the existing route with a new 3-kilometre-long road. Furthermore, the route will go around 3rd Avenue, which is extensively used by locals and the general public.
It was also highlighted that the commuters on 3rd Avenue will also have an alternate way to reach Bari Imam and the universities and college areas. A CDA official told the media that the new project will improve diplomatic security, restrict access to sensitive sections of the city, and help in the relocation of diplomatic missions functioning in residential neighbourhoods. Moreover, it was revealed that the government is expected to approve the project layout which was previously approved in 2007-08.

It is vital to note that the Diplomatic Enclave, which houses foreign embassies in Islamabad, is a critical region. To guarantee security protocols, the government has labelled the region as sensitive, and commutes to the area have restricted access. According to sources, many embassies continue to operate from residential sections of the city, which poses a security risk that government seeks to address.
