Islamabad: In a grand operation launched against encroachers, the Capital Development Authority (CDA) has retrieved forestland in Mouza Tumair, reported a news source. The said area, belonging to the Forest Department, is located close Mouza Nilore.
The operation was carried out on the orders of Federal Minister of State for Interior Shehryar Khan Afridi, under the direction of Islamabad Rural Assistant Commissioner Umar Randhawa. It was conducted as a joint effort of the Forest Department, Islamabad Police, and CDA officials.
During the crackdown, the CDA Demolition Squad razed all illegally constructed structures.
Speaking to the media, Assistant Commissioner Randhawa said that the operation against encroachers will continue as per the instructions of the Interior Minister. He also made a commitment to free Islamabad from encroachments. Randhawa further stated that the operation is headed in the right direction, and is yielding its desired outcomes.
