The CDA has to pay additional PKR 120 million along with the 1200 Kanal as a transfer fee to get the plots. The issue has previously remained undecided for many years. DHA officials reveal legal issues with the land handed over to them. DHA asked the development authority to resolve the issues, complete the obligations and then claim the plots offered in compensation.

As per the DHA officials, the 1200-kanal land was previously allocated for the development of Islamabad Highway in 1963; however, plans for the highway later changed and the allocated land remained unused. An agreement was reached upon in 2007. The agreement decided that CDA will receive 1 Kanal developed plot against each 4 Kanal raw land. CDA confiscated and handed over the land that fell prey to Illegal encroachments.
