Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has decided to restart construction work on the Margalla Town underpass, which was stopped due to improvement in the design, according to news published in the leading newspaper on March 6.

A CDA senior official (whose name was not disclosed) mentioned that some changes have been made to the design of the underpass and the authority will restart the work soon. He added that there is no change in the location of the underpass. It was disclosed that the service road of Margalla Town will be dualized.
Moreover, Garden Avenue – from 7th Avenue to Murree Road/ Rawal Road flyover – will be expanded. The spokesperson added that this issue will be discussed in the upcoming meeting of the CDA Development Working Party (DWP). In the meeting, the party is expected to approve the mega project for the development of rural areas, worth PKR 10 billion.

It is pertinent to note that the Margalla Town underpass project was halted as the civic agency identified some technical flaws in the approved design after starting the construction work.
