Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has decided to offer assistance to residents at their doorstep in a new policy adjustment aimed at resolving the problems of land acquisition affectees of various sectors, news sources reported on October 3.
Under the new policy, the CDA would allocate plots to people whose land had been bought by the CDA for the sector development project.

According to sources, the CDA has organised an estate team charged with reaching out to Chak Maujhan, Majamoa, and Chak Shahzad residents at their homes. A weekly timetable is being developed to visit various Mouzas and acquired territories to address concerns and rehabilitation issues. Similarly, CDA has formed a team within the engineering wing to visit the affected areas and settle outstanding concerns. The new regulation was implemented to meet people’s claims linked to the development work in CDA’s Park Enclave II and III, which had hit snags. According to the CDA, the authority holds 68% ownership in Park Enclave II and 85% ownership in Park Enclave III.
According to CDA Chairman Captain (retired) Usman Younis, the move would result in improved land management and the settlement of concerns about delayed land transfers.

It is vital to note that while CDA has purchased land from various locals for the construction of residential sectors, and is yet to build an effective procedure for granting Build Up Property (BuP) awards. The current policy adjustment is viewed as a significant step toward the development and restoration of the 1960s-era Islamabad Master Plan.
